Articles submission site to make money with google adsense

There’s no doubt that Google Adsense is a proven money maker, but getting content pages to put those ads on is probably the most difficult thing for any internet to do.

Frankly, good content is one of the few things you just can’t fake.

Of course, some people will tell you can do fine without lots of new content on your site all the time.

WRONG! Just ask them how much their last Google AdSense check was for. The numbers speak for themselves.

Sure, there are lots of ebooks that will teach you how to become a maestro of AdSense, and there are books on how to get content written…but learning all that information and then trying to get content takes alot of time.

I mean you practically have to give up your job and start cranking out content full time to make it pay off.

Sound familiar ?

But then I got an idea…

I’ve gotten a ton of requests from people who want to make money with AdSense but who just don’t have time to go chase down fresh content every day. And yea I mean a ton. So many, in fact that it made me think, “How can I automate this process?”

It took time, but I came up with a script that lets you run a site that solicits articles from people, post them, and puts Google ads on every single one of those puppies.

Think about it—if you get 50 people submitting an article to you a day, after 100 days you have 50,000 articles, with Google ads on each one…

We’re Talking Serious Money Here!

But wait, you say, why would people submit articles to your site for free?

Well, it’s pretty simple. Inside all of us is an approval-seeking being who wants to see his or her name in print.

Admit it…don’t you smile just a little bit when you see your name on a nameplate, or a sports roster, or in a letter to the editor?

Everybody wants to be a star.

There’s another aspect of human nature that will make people send you free articles.

When someone’s passionate about something, whether they love it or hate it, they’ll write about it for free just to get it out there where others will see it.

But the biggest reason these people will submit these articles to your new Article Directory site is to be able to add their name and link back to their site at the bottom of every article!

They know these articles will be copied from your article site and used by hundreds or even thousands of other people all the while getting their name and resource box links spread all an out the internet!

So what this script does is take advantage of human nature.

Sounds too good to be true?

Well, it isn’t if you have the right tool.

The best part is while all of this is going on- other people are building your massive site for you, a little bit at a time just like the search engines like it!

The Right (and the Wrong) Way to Get Free Content :

Getting people to write millions of free articles for you sounds great, right? But there’s one other thing to consider—how are you going to keep track of all those people’s work and how are you going to track your AdSense revenue?

You need a back office system.

And that’s just what my script includes.

Included is everything you need to run your own article web site and a fully functional administrative backhand to keep track of all your users, and also functions that would allow you to e-mail all your users as well.

Plus you do not have to be a genius to run this system, the backend is just as easy as adding your content into by typing it into the provided boxes-

Use Google Adsense to Make Money With Your Website

The Goal of AdSense

While the low cost of information distribution has lead to an increase of content, it has not lead to the creation of quality websites. There are many quality websites out there, but exceptional few in relation to the size of the internet.

One of the best ways for search engines to fight off this problem is by rewarding quality content. Obviously good rankings and large amounts of traffic help, but many of us are suckers for money...which AdSense can provide.
How AdSense Works

AdSense allows you to paste a small amount of code on your web pages which reads various on page and off page topics to determine what the page is about. Automatically AdSense will usually serve relevant ads to the page copy. AdSense allows you to split the ad revenue from these ads with Google. If AdSense can not determine what the page is about they will place public service announcement ads or alternate ads of your choice.
Who is Adsense for?

Generally AdSense is for larger content websites. If your site is purely commercial in nature it is harder to get accepted to AdSense. Qualifying for AdSense should not be that hard though, as most commercial websites should provide more than just a commerce platform.

The web was created to allow the free flow of information. I am exceedingly more likely to buy off a person who provides details about their services or products. Unbiased reviews, free information, and user feedback gain credibility with your user, which will allow you to further expand your marketing leverage while increasing your pages views and your ad revenue.

Benefits of AdSense

I do not want to worry about many of the aspects of running a business. Right now I am limited in what I can do by the fact that I can only do so much myself. I have turned down many people because it is not possible for me to work on 100 sites at one time.

The other option for me is to make revenue from selling ad space. With AdSense I have no need to prospect for affiliate links and ad revenue. The process is 100% automated. A check get mailed out in the middle of the following month if my account is above $100 at the end of the month.

In addition, AdSense makes money if I go to sleep or go away for the weekend. It allows me to work even when I am not. Other than sharing revenue with Google, absolutely every aspect of monetizing market space is in your favor.

* If you want to block a competitors ad you can.
* As ad prices change the ad with the highest returns (ad price * click through rate) are automatically displayed on your site.
* There are over 150,000 advertisers using AdWords.
* Some people may even view your site in a positive light due to your affiliation with Google.
* As your content changes the ads do too.
* If ads are irrelevant they automatically get deleted due to a low click through rate.
* AdSense has multiple layouts and formats which will should be able to work well with your site.
Maximize AdSense Revenue

*Learn enough about a topic that interests you so that you can create a valuable resource.
*Build a linking campaign to drive traffic to your resource.
*Chose a topic which would interest you, consumers, and is financially well to do.
*Make pages which are focused enough that it is easy for Google to know which ads to place on the page.
*Try to keep your pages on the site topic. Do not create your asbestos web page on your site about Sesame Street.
*Test various layouts and positions.

Detailed AdSense Information

There is not much. Most people who claim to be AdSense experts parrot what is written on the dozen or so official AdSense pages.

Your ad layout should be different depending on many factors. Here are some examples of websites with the different layouts.

Much in the same way you sell a product, you want to be able to sell the ads. Thus it does not make sense to have the ads displayed in an offensively disruptive manner. The layout and design should blend. Google likes the tower ad, but ad layout should depends on different variables. If you throw your ads up in an offensive way you are killing off any long term loyalty you may have hoped to build.
Placing AdSense ads at the side of the content

* Much the same way users have burned out on banner ads people may eventually get burned out on text ads.
* Generally you will want the ads in the normal line of view by using a thin page format. This current site is not doing as good at selling ads as it could be. I have taken the ads off this page so I do not break any terms of service, but they were in that far right blue column (bad location)
* If you do not want ads to interfere with your core business and are looking for a small supplement to your income you may want to use the wider page width and have the AdSense ads blend in at the edge of the page.
* If you have a "click happy" audience this may be the format for you.
Placing AdSense ads prominently on the top of the content

* You should do this if you are providing a free tool which gives exceptional (perceived) value to its users. Also sites which are known market leaders with a huge following can do well this way.
Placing AdSense ads at the bottom of the content

* Allows you to sell the information that will sell the click.
* Is a good idea if you are in an industry which requires trust.
Placing AdSense in an inline block

* If you are a bs website trying to eat cake from Google this may fit well in the dead center of your pages.
* If you are primarily an article website this may be the way to integrate it into the content.
Blending AdSense in the page content

* Probably the most effective way to serve ads if you can blend it properly.
* Works well in directory styled web sites.
Apply for AdSense

Do a quick tour if you have any questions about the program. Editors review your site before they will grant you an account. Make sure you comply with the terms of service and then apply.

If you get accepted ensure you follow their terms of service. I have actually had an editor comment on the fact that I mentioned ads in my text on a page that had the ads on it. I quickly fixed the problem, but I can attest to the fact that they are actively taking feedback and reviewing individual web pages for content.

Many of the topics and examples in this article came from a conversation with Jason Lexell of Digital Harvest Media.
AdSense Article Update

Since I wrote this article Google introduced a bunch more AdSense ad layouts and free channel tracking.bd14582_.

Optimizing Your Google AdSense Pages

Introduction

Running Google AdSense on your article website is a quick and easy way to generate revenue for your writing efforts. We've been using Google AdSense on many sites running our article manager, ArticleLive, both for testing and for real life revenue generation. We found after some testing and research that there were various techniques we could implement to optimize our AdSense ad’s and increase revenue. Today I'm going to share some of my favorite strategies.

Direct from the horses mouth (move this to the beginning)

My first suggestion is to read Googles list of tips and tricks for optimizing Google AdSense:
https://www.google.com/AdSense/support/bin/static.py?page=tips.html

If you’re running a forum, here’s a quick list of tips direct from Google:
http://AdSense.blogspot.com/2005/10/six-AdSense-optimization-tips-for.html

Positioning

First and foremost, where you place your ad’s makes a huge direct difference in visibility of the ad, and therefore increases your chance of getting clicks. While some people stress that your ad’s should be highly visible upon first visit, i.e. top of the page, in some cases having your ad’s placed at the END of your article can actually increase click thru’s. Let’s say our article is a review of a specific digital camera, the Cannon IXUS 800 IS. (Incidentally, I love this camera and lost mine overseas).

When a user visits my site to read my review he or she is most likely going to read the article before clicking on any ad’s. It’s the reason they came to my site in the first place. By positioning my ad’s directly after my article on the same page I know my visitor has finished reading my article and may be ready to take action. An ad that offers a cheap price for the same camera I’m reviewing is now highly likely to get clicked on, especially if my review has been a positive one.

Try various ad placements. Tweak and test until you find something that works for you.

Look and Feel

Your AdSense ad’s should blend into the look and feel of your web site. Make suer you use the same font type, size and color so advertisements don’t look like ad’s. On the other hand, sometimes visitors become ad blind so you need them to stand out. Again, test, test, test.

As I mentioned above, if you place your ad’s at the end of the article there’s a good chance your visitor will click on them. Keeping their style consistent with the rest of your page will make them appear as normal links, and therefore your visitors wont get scared off and think that the only reason you wrote the article is so they click on the ad.

Increase Relevancy

Google uses what we call robots to scan your web page to locate the best ad’s to serve. If Google does a poor job of recognizing your articles topic then the ad’s it displays will not be highly relevant. Improving the relevance of the ad’s displays means improving the probability that your readers will find interest in an advertisement and click on it.

There are a few things you should do to increase relevance. Firstly, use descriptive headings and try to be specific. For example, if you’re writing a review about a Canon IXS 800 Digital Camera, then your title should look something like: “Canon IXS 800 Digital Camera Review”. As obvious as it seems, some people tend to forget this and use less relevant headings such as IXS 800 Review.

Be sure to include the topic of the article in the page title as well as adding a detailed meta description and meta keywords. Keep them as focused as possible, using similar keywords found throughout your web page. Adding alt tags to your images can also help. For example, an image of the camera could have an alt tag of: “Canon IXS 800 Digital Camera Picture” and you could even add a descriptive caption to the image.

Cater to Niche Topics

Targeting niche topics instead of general ones will result in two distinct benefits. First, your natural search engine competition is reduced dramatically. You get more targeted visitors interested in your niche topic, who will be shown more relevant ad’s, resulting in higher click rates.

Let’s take our digital camera website as an example. If I was to write a generic article about digital cameras I’d be competing with thousands if not millions of competitors. My Google Ad’s would be generic and the chance that my visitors will click on these ad’s is significantly reduced. On the other hand, however, by catering to a specific, targeted topic, I decrease my natural search competition, I increase my relevance both with visitors and ad’s and increase the likelihood of an ad click.

Get More Adsense Clicks

Google Adsense has swept the online community as the cheapest and easiest way to make money online. The Adsense concept is really simple, if you think about it. The publisher or the webmaster inserts a java script into their website. Each time the page is accessed, the java script will pull advertisements from the Adsense program that are based on your keywords. The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click.

The truth though is that there is a large number of people out there who use Adsense and make very little money from it. One thing you have to remember is that Adsense is a numbers game... the more optimized your website is the greater your chance of hitting a hot spot where consumers are searching by the thousands for your keywords.

Even then, in this ideal situation, you have to experiment with different ad formats, lay-outs, looks-and-feels of your pages to get the most out of it.

Here are a few things your website should have to get the most out of Google Adsense:

1. Valuable Content

Most important of all, you still have to deliver valuable content, so your visitors will consider the click on the Adsense ad as valuable.

The lack of any valuable content in Adsense sites, in my opinion, is rapidly devaluating the economic value of the whole system. Here's why:

You (and Google) only provide the place (and matching device) in a 'matchmaking attempt' between keywords and advertisers looking to reach an audience. It's a delicate system that is easily broken or damaged or destroyed. It is much more likely for the 'matchmaking' to be successful on a well optimized and focused website than in some keyword dump. Even if the relation doesn't work out, you can still have a look around with no hard feelings.

That's one reason why you should always have valuable content and a well optimized website!

For your reference there are a few SEO related articles in the Millionaire Geeks Article Database(link). One of my personal favorites for starters is the article “Optimizing Your Website: For Beginners”(link).

As soon as you realize that, you will have a much better chance to earn the same amount of money as those who take the rough way by setting up hundreds of Adsense sites.

2. Don't Chase High CPC Keywords

Many Adsense users make the mistake of only going by the numbers. They chase the so called “high” CPC (Cost Per Click) Keywords. They buy lists with keywords that pay the highest prices and then put them into their automated website generation system.

How wrong they are. Because.... what's the first marketing lesson we learn? Find a HUNGRY crowd willing to PAY for your products or services, right? Then why go after artificially priced high CPC keywords?

What you'll need are high paying keywords with a crowd of advertisers who are virtually fighting to pay you to advertise their website to your visitors! The more advertisers, the more competition among them to get the top position.

Question is: how do you find out which keywords have the most advertisers? I can suggest two options: the first is simple but free; you could always use the tools that Google itself provides. Google has a keyword research tool here on their website. This tool will tell you how many people search for the current keyword and roughly how much competition there is for that word. Obviously you are looking for a keyword that has a ton of people searching for it and not a lot of competition. The other option involves dishing out some cash but will do a lot more for you. The website keywordspy.com is a great resource for getting you on the road to an extremely lucrative Adword campaign. Keywordspy.com can find competiors within your field and tell you what Pay Per Click (or PPC) words they are using and will even let you view the text they are using to attract the search engines. You can also view a more detailed version of the statistics for your keywords as well as monitor the strength of each keyword over time.

3. Use Meta Tags

The META-tags in your webpage have a low impact when it comes to search engine ranking etc. But in my opinion they are still worth while, especially when you use Adsense ads. They tell the Google Adsense bot (a subset of Google's main crawler who will visit your Adsense site within 48 hours to determine the keywords) exactly what your page is about and make the matching easy.

So, use your main keyword or keyphrase in the Title, Description, and Keyword Tags and use it in your headings, your copy, and in the links.

Now, suddenly the place of your Adsense ad becomes important, doesn't it? Because if you put the ad close to those keywords, you will improve the quality of the ads shown. Because Google will know exactly what keyword your page is targeting.

Therefore you should target only 1-3 keywords or keyphrases per page. Not only will Google recognize the keyphrases better, you're also avoid confusing your visitors.

4. Concentrate on ONE format

The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This same format has the tendency to result in higher CTR, or the click-through rates.

Personally I find this format too big, too intrusive. I prefer the small vertical banner that I integrate with my articles using a few extra Javascript commands. View the HTML version of this article to reveal how I do this:

But you should also consider the best spot on the page to place your ads on. The one used in the example above is NOT in the right place. I found the place higher up, above the fold, right at the beginning of the article to be the best one. Test this thoroughly. There are several great resources, but I recommend you start with Google.

Personally I do not use Adsense to make a full time income. I just use it as another income stream, not the main one. I still prefer a mix between my own products, affiliate promotions and, occasionally, Adsense. But it's up to you. Use my tips above. They have proven to be valuable for me.

Wishing you success!
